This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
So I straggled across Deviant Art while airing out my mind before studying for mid-terms. I forget that this is not one of those sites like Myspace or Facebook where it automatically updates your age, etc., so here I was updating my age. Wow, 26, who'da thunk it? Where was I several years ago as a freshman? What was I doing? What was life like before college? Hmm... I was an art major at my community college for some 2 years before I suddenly decided to change to an English major (one of those few biggie majors like Spanish that requires one to capitalize it). Now I'm a senior English major/art minor with only a few classes remaining to graduate and I'm looking down the education tunnel and finally seeing light at the end (or maybe it's another tunnel--it's hard to tell). After really getting engaged with a lot of complicated, but rewarding texts, I realize that I do love the English major (hey, 4 classes of the stuff in one term will prove it in a hurry, trust me). On the other side of the coin, however, this has been one of the first semesters in a long time where I have had no art classes period. The ability and the desire is still there, but without being a part of class assignments there is no way that I can really squeeze it all in. Fortunately there is this summer--a time when I can let the artistic half of me clobber the analytical English side with charcoals, watercolors--what have you. With any luck I'll be finishing up my art minor this summer while English takes a back seat with SciFi lit. Until then I'm getting uber-inspired to eventually pick back up with my own art by seeing the marvelous works produced by Hayley (Siosama). Who knows, I may work towards a B.A. in art also while I'm down here. As they say... when in Montevallo... But for now it's heigh-ho heigh-ho a back to books I go. Bye for now, minasan!
except it's just because i'm too impatient.
